Horseback Riding

About

Beginners and experienced riders alike will enjoy seeing Belize by horseback. Mount up and ride through citrus groves on your way to the Maya Mountain foothills, over rocky remnants of an ancient Maya civilization and through hills and valleys, then dismount for refreshments and even take a dip in the river.

Horseback to Xunanutnich

Depart your Cayo hotel by horseback onto the hilltops and valleys of the countryside to the Maya village of Succotz. Take your horse on a hand-cranked ferry across the Mopan River and up the hill to Xunantunich or Maiden of the Rock Maya Site. Wave your equestrian guide good-bye or choose to ride back to the lodge by horse. Envision yourself picnicking under shaded trees in a plaza as your guide shares stories of growing up in Belize.
